This might be my favorite category because I think face color really brings my complexion to life and it can be used in so many subtle ways! Blush can help us look youthful, bronzer & contour add dimension, and highlight done right can give skin the healthiest looking glow. Here’s what I’m working with for now:
For years I was so against New Year’s Resolutions because I think I took them too seriously, but I’ve decided to do a fun challenge this year instead. I have so much makeup that I’ve bought over the past few years, and since I rarely wear it day-to-day anymore, I almost never get to actually finish a product before it expires.
For at least the first six months of 2020, I’m not going to buy a single makeup product! It’s not so much about limiting makeup (since I really do have so much), but more about challenging myself to not buy things that I don’t need and limiting useless waste. I also want to really use more of my products so that I can give better reviews and recommendations for all of you.
I’m basically a broken record with these at this point, but they’re my favorite body lotion and body wash, period.
I bought this a while ago and liked it immediately, but I’ve really fallen in love with it more over these past few months. It’s a great light tint that is the perfect dewy finish; it’s not matte or oily but just beautiful skin-like texture. It’s especially perfect for mature skin since it’s moisturizing and so natural. There also really isn’t enough pigment to settle into lines/pores/wrinkles so it wears well all day. When we Facetimed Rob’s parents for Christmas, his sweet mom complimented my skin and that’s one of the nicest things to hear! All I was wearing was this. (Though to be fair, it was also 85 degrees and some sweat might have also contributed to my “glow”)
If you follow me on Instagram (here!) and watch my stories, you might have seen me dealing with a pretty bad reaction to a face mask last week. I immediately washed it off to reveal some SUPER red and angry skin that looked like a serious sunburn. I washed it off quickly enough and my skin wasn’t burned too badly, but it was still an intense situation that had me freaked out for a bit! Here’s what happened and how I got my skin back to normal.
I’ve never been the kind of person who only buys one brand (of skincare, makeup, clothing, home goods, etc). While it seems much easier to just find a favorite brand and use all of their products, I’ve found that it’s pretty hard to find one line that does everything well. That being said, I have found a few beauty brands that do many things well! Here they are:
I’m usually pretty easy & lowkey when sharing things I love with you guys because I figure you’ll check it out if you’re interested, and if not, no big deal! Today, I’m going to strongly suggest that you run and buy this lip balm, though. It’s my favorite product of 2019 so far!
